NHS Fife have launched a 12 week consultation on their clinical strategy. The Clinical Strategy is NHS Fife’s vision for the next five years and beyond.​

The Care Inspectorate Announce New Approach to Inspections 

A new inspection methodology came into effect in July, focusing on the experiences of people receiving care services, and delivering new-style inspection reports to better inform the public to help them decide what care servicce is best for them or their loves ones. The focus is changing from inputs to the outputs of a care service's activities. More information.

 

The Public Audit Committee Hears Evidence of Changing Models of Care

Caroline Gardener (Auditor General for Scotland) and her colleagues presented the key findings of Audit Scotland's recent report on the subject, which found that while new approaches to health and care are being developed in parts of Scotland, these are generally small scale and are not widespread. More information.

 

The Health and Sport Committee Publish Work Programme

The Health and Sport Committee have published their work programme for the upcoming term. More information.

 

Scottish Fundraising Complaints Service

There is a new charity fundraising complaints service in Scotland. People can use the service by calling the complaints line on 0808 164 2520, by emailing scottishfundraisingcomplaints@scvo.org.uk or by visiting https://fundraisingcomplaints.scot

 

Self Management Week 2016

The ALLIANCE have announced that Self Management Week 2016 will run between 3rd and 7th October, with this year's theme being 'Powerful Partnerships'. The Self Management Awards 2016, which are announced as part of the week's activities, is also open for nominations. The closing date for nominations is August 5th, so get nominating!

 

Consultations and Surveys

The ALLIANCE have launched a survey on Brexit and its implications for supports and services that members either use or deliver. More information.

 

SSSC are currently looking into current and future skills issues for the social care workforce - open until 29th July.

 

SSSC have launched a consultation on the Standard of Foster Care, and are seeking the views of everyone involved in providing and supporting foster care services - open until 15th August.

 

There is a consultation on the Review of the Scottish Social Housing Charter is seeking views to assist in the development of an updated version of the Charter to commence from 1st April 2017.​open until 24th August.

 

Upcoming Consultation on Social Security in Scotland

Angela Constance MSP, Cabinet Secretary for Communities, Social Security and Equalities, has confirmed that the Scottish Government will consult on the future of social security this summer. The Government will gain powers to create a Scottish welfare state within weeks, with the potential for new benefits from September.
