Thanks to those of you who responded to our online survey and / or took the time to be interviewed. We have now started working on our report and work plan and look forward to sharing this with you by the end of July. 

However, please remember our programme plan is not static so if you think of any additional information or training that would be valuable, please let us know!

Consultations and Redesign Activities in Partnership Areas

 

Dumfries & Galloway - Third Sector Organisations are invited to comment on the Dumfries & Galloway Inequalities Framework and Toolkit. The inequalities framework is aimed at supporting all those involved in developing policies, guidelines, interventions, programmes and services by providing information and tools necessary to address inequalities. A draft version of the framework and toolkit is available for download, as well as a proforma for responding to the consultation. The deadline for responses is midnight on Sunday 17th July.

 

Third Sector News

 

Charities in Scotland and the OSCR are to take an enhanced role in the regulation of charity fundraising. This sees a break away from UK-wide arrangements, after an independent working group rejected the option of the Fundraising Regulator model. Furthermore, the working group has recommended to Scottish Government that regulation of cross-border charities uses a lead-agency model.

Young Carers £2 Million 'Community Choices Fund' now open for applications

Applications are now open for a new £2 million fund giving communities the opportunity to vote on how money is spent in their area. The Community Choices Fund has been launched by the Scottish Government to support participatory budgeting.

 

The ALLIANCE's Response to Scottish Government's Consultation on Participation Requests 

The ALLIANCE have responded to the Scottish Government consultation on Participation Requests, calling for clarity and transparency in the process, and increased support for accessibility and dialogue between public bodies and communities.

 

Self Management Week 2016

The ALLIANCE have announced that Self Management Week 2016 will run between 3rd and 7th October, with this year's theme being 'Powerful Partnerships'. The Self Management Awards 2016, which are announced as part of the week's activities, is also open for nominations. The closing date for nominations is August 5th, so get nominating!

 

Events

 

Neurological Conditions Stakeholder Event - 28th July 10am - 12pm

The Health and Social Care Alliance Scotland (The ALLIANCE) are launching a Neurological Conditions Programme; which aims to strengthen the voice of the neurological community and build capacity of the Third Sector to contribute to the development and implementation of policy and practice.

A stakeholder event is being held on 28th July from 10am - 12pm for organisations with an interest in contributing to this programme. More information and agenda to follow; to confirm a place at the event please contact Gillian Fergusson

 

Consultations and Surveys

 

The Mental Welfare Commission and the Scottish Commission for Learning Disability are undertaking a small-scale scoping exercise to set the parameters for a review of the inclusion of learning disabilities and autism in the Mental Health (Care and Treatment) (Scotland) Act 2003. Deadline is 9.30am, Monday 4th July.

 

Draft proposals for a 'No-Blame' Redress Scheme in Scotland for harm resulting from a clinical treatment - This consultation is open for anyone who would be affected in any way by a change in the compensation arrangements for injuries resulting from clinical treatment - open until 8th July

 

Review of the Scottish Social Housing Charter - this consultation seeks views on the Scottish Social Housing Charter. Consultation open until 24th August.

 

The Scottish Government Procurement Team want your views on how they communicate and how to improve communication in the future.

Brexit: Implications for the Voluntary Sector - The National Council of Voluntary Organisations (NCVO) have produced a briefing, which suggests that the impact of Brexit in the long-term is likely to be under-estimated, particularly financially.

Fareshare Foodcloud - If you are a charity or community group that uses food to support people, you can sign up to FareShare FoodCloud and collect good quality, surplus food from Tesco stores for free. Further information and registration details can be found here.
