Integration 101

Tuesday 13th June, 12.30 (for 1pm start) - 3pm, Kilmarnock - BOOK NOW

Finding Health and Social Care Integration confusing? Do you want to understand how integration is progressing across Scotland?

Following huge demand, our Integration 101 sessions will be going back to basics - from the implementation of the Public Bodies (Joint Working) (Scotland) Act 2014 to where we are now and beyond. This short informal session will cover the policy context and aspirations, alongside the current national picture and what some of the challenges and opportunities will be over the coming years. It will also provide an opportunity for table top discussions with participants and informal networking.

This event will be taking place from 1pm, with lunch available prior to the session at 12.30pm. Teas and coffees will also be available on arrival. Places are free but limited, so do book early to secure your place. Please also advise of any dietary requirements by emailing comms.coordinator@alliance-scotland.org.uk.

Bite Sized Training Session - Social Reporting

Tuesday 6th June, 12.30 (for 1pm start) - 4pm, WG13, Kilmarnock - BOOK NOW

Social reporting goes beyond the formal conference report to provide a multimedia, conversational record of your events. It takes the impact beyond the time and place of your event to encourage online engagement. Social reporters' audio and video interviews provide a rich picture of the event - getting to the heart of the issues you're tackling.

Our practical half-day training workshop will give you the skills to:

  • Make good quality video and audio clips
  • Upload and share your content online
  • Ask the important questions that get to the heart of your event
  • Create a digital record of your conference or event

We will have cameras and audio equipment available to borrow, but we encourage people to use the equipment they have in their pockets, so bring your smartphone if you have one.

Please note, this event is free to attend but numbers are limited, so do book early to secure your place. Please also advise of any dietary/accessibility requirements by emailing comms.coordinator@alliance-scotland.org.uk

Integration News

Health and Sport Committee

The main focus of today's Health and Sport Committee was an evidence session on the Integration Authorities consultation with stakeholders.

It was felt that the majority of discussions within Integration Authorities were budget related, as opposed to service improvement (and service redesign was driven and decided by fiscal requirements).

There were suggestions for how best practice could be shared and under whose remit it could sit, but the challenge of freeing up the time and resource to consider and implement this was acknowledged.

There was a suggestion that data was not being properly used, nor contextualised when it was, in order to inform service change and delivery, and that financial challenges had led to real difficulties in engaging with communities about difficult decisions.

There was a sense that progress would be made in localities, and they could become the ‘engine room for integration’, but that this would still take some years.

We are currently summarising the content of the discussion and this will be made available on our website as soon as possible.
